How we collect, use and protect personal data on Grasp Maths, including data belonging to children.
Last updated: 11 August 2026
Where we are today: Grasp Maths accounts, saved progress and paid membership (Parent Pro and Tutor Pro) are live. This policy describes how we handle data across the marketing website and the practice platform at app.graspmaths.com, including account, progress and billing data.
Grasp Maths ("we", "us", "our") provides structured, adaptive online maths practice for learners, parents, tutors and teachers. This policy explains how we handle personal data in connection with the website at www.graspmaths.com, the practice platform at app.graspmaths.com, and the services described on them.
We collect data when you actively give it to us, and as you use the practice platform:
Grasp Maths is designed to be used by children under adult supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from a child without the involvement of a parent, guardian or teacher who creates and manages the account. Account registration and child/student profile creation is completed by an adult, and we apply data-minimisation principles to any information collected about a child — collecting only what is needed to provide and improve the practice experience, such as a first name, year group, topic results and progress, not unnecessary personal details.
If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate parental or guardian involvement, please contact us via the Contact page and we will remove it.
We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Account, profile, progress and form-submission data is stored using Supabase, a database and backend platform. Supabase acts as our data processor and stores data on our behalf in accordance with their own security and hosting arrangements. Billing and payment data is processed and stored by Stripe, our payment provider, under their own security arrangements — we never see or store your full card details. If a form cannot reach our database (for example, if you're offline), your browser may temporarily hold the submission locally until it can be sent.
Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases: your consent (for example, when you sign up for early access updates), our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries and operating the website, and the steps necessary to perform a contract with you (providing the account, practice and, for paid plans, billing services you've signed up for).
We keep enquiry data for as long as reasonably needed to respond to you, or until you ask us to delete it. Account and progress data is kept for as long as the account remains active, plus a reasonable period afterwards for legal and record-keeping purposes. If you delete a child or student profile, its saved progress is deleted with it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us via the Contact page. We will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
Details of the cookies and local storage we use are set out in our Cookie Policy.
We may update this policy as the platform develops, particularly as learner accounts, progress tracking and paid membership launch. We'll update the "Last updated" date above whenever we make a change, and significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
If you have any questions about this policy or how your data is handled, please get in touch via the Contact page.
